Our HR Professional team have years of experience working with clients in a variety of industries including Not-for-Profit, service, manufacturing, construction, law firms, consulting, security, agriculture/farming, engineering and many more.  We have over 35 years of combined experience working in Human Resources and have obtained our professional Human Resources Designation to ensure you get the best in HR Best practices at your fingertips.

Dana Gidge, B.Comm (hons.), CHRL

Director of HR Consulting

Dana’s passion started early as she realized the best part of HR was building relationships. She enjoys creating an environment where employees can think big, have fun, and do great work.  Dana has worked in HR for over 23 years. Her experience, paired with her Business Degree in Accounting and Finance, along with her CHRL designation lends a blended focus on creating business value and optimizing people assets.

Dana has experience with many industries and is often found consulting and advising clients on strategic human resources matters that are outside the scope of clients’ abilities; interim assignments and fractional HR at an HR manager/director level.  Dana is a third-party workplace investigator, a labour relations specialist, a certified pay equity advisor and the leader of the RLB People team. 

Dana is passionate about sharing knowledge and often is a presenter at local public speaking engagements as well as RLB Webinars for clients. Dana has high business integrity, has a dedicated client-centric approach, and brings problems to the table to find solutions.

Stephanie Burchat-Samson, CHRP

Senior HR Consultant

Stephanie is a highly driven Human Resource Professional eager to make a difference by utilizing a broad range of experience in HR functions, focusing on continuous improvement through communication, knowledge sharing and a varied interpersonal skill set.

Stephanie is very well versed in multiple HR functions, and starting her career out in the manufacturing industry has only strengthened her passion towards employee engagement, performance management training and development, and legislative compliance. Her career path from a co-op student to HR Generalist and then HR Advisor has demonstrated Stephanie’s ability to thrive in challenging situations, quickly adapt and illustrate a strong commitment to team success and empowering others to achieve their greatest potential.

Stephanie is now a Senior HR Consultant with RLB, focusing on building client relationships and always fostering a people count philosophy. Stephanie is a Certified Human Resources Professional, an active member of the Human Resources Professional Association and enjoys attending webinars and seminars with a drive for continuous learning and improvement.

During Stephanie’s spare time you can either find her hiking, camping, or participating in any activity that is outdoors. Fresh air and sunshine are two key elements to her success and happiness!

Zack MacPherson, CHRL

Senior HR Consultant

Zack is a seasoned HR professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (HR) from the University of Guelph and has his Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation. With nearly a decade of experience in the field, Zack has honed his expertise through various roles in diverse industries including public sector, private, and publicly traded companies. 

Professionally, Zack has held pivotal roles such as Recruitment Manager, HR Manager, Talent Acquisition Lead, and is a Senior HR Consultant here at RLB. His range of experience has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of human resources strategies and best practices, making him a valuable asset to any organization.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Zack is a proud husband and father of two. As an avid sports and fitness fan, he enjoys playing hockey, golf, and baseball while passionately supporting the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays as a dedicated fan. In his spare time, Zack enjoys engaging with the community and currently serves as a board member of the HRPA Guelph Chapter, actively contributing to the development and enhancement of HR practices in the region.

Alyssa Smythe, CHRP

HR Consultant

Alyssa has been exposed to all facets of Human Resources in her progressive experience within the manufacturing and automation industries over the last decade, making her strongly analytical and efficient. She is driven by making impactful and positive changes by collaborating to provide customized and strategic Human Resources solutions. She embodies RLB’s “People Count” philosophy with empathy, honesty and integrity at the heart of everything that she does, allowing her to create strong and lasting professional relationships. She is a Certified Human Resources Professional and member of the Human Resources Professional Association; Guelph and District Chapter.

Outside of work, Alyssa can be found reading or at the park with her energetic dog.  She also enjoys entertaining her close friends and family, fully equipped with homemade meals and baked goodies! 

Megan Smith

Administrative Assistant

Megan is a dedicated HR professional currently pursuing her Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP). With a strong passion for the field, she strives to make a positive impact on organizations and individuals alike. 

She is driven to excel in her studies and professional endeavors, constantly seeking new ways to enhance her knowledge and skills. With a keen understanding of the importance of effective human resource management, Megan aims to contribute to the success and well-being of employees and organizations. 

When Megan is not at work, she enjoys spending her free time working out and visiting her family cottage, where she can embrace the beauty of nature and engage in outdoor activities. She also likes event planning and is an avid dog lover.
